Start & Finish

St. Geertruid is located in the South of the Netherlands, in the province of Limburg near the Belgian border, about 10 km south of Maastricht and 20 km north of Liege. Right next to the start there will be a large parking area. On both days, the tour will start and finish at St. Geertruid, near the camping site  'De Kersengaard' in Libeek. Nearby St. Geertruid there will be signs on the road directing you to the Mh2d start location and parking area.

Route description

Get your directions via Google Maps
If you are coming from the north, take A2 to Maastricht. 10 km after Maastricht take the exit to St. Geertruid and then follow the ANWB signs to St. Geertruid, or, even better, continue on A2 and take the exit to Eijsden, Oost-Maarland (57), then drive to Eijsden and then St.Geertruid. Please note that the road from Mheer to Libeek will be closed for cars – only bicycles are allowed. If you are coming from the south, you must follow the motorway Liege – Maastricht, then take the exit to Eijsden (58) and follow the signs to St. Geertruid.

Via A2 from the south, Liege (B)

If you are coming from Liege, Belgium, follow A2 to Maastricht. After the border take the first exit to Eijsden, Oost Maarland (57) then follow the signs to St. Geertruid.

By bicycle or bus from Maastricht central station

You can come by bike from Maastricht central station, the distance is approximately 10 km and should take about 30 minutes to cycle. Exit the central station onto Stationstraat and go left (heading south). Then at the traffic lights take right. At the second set of traffic lights take left. Cycle alongside the Meuse river to Oost Maarland and continue towards Eijsden. In Eijsden, take the first left at the roundabout, cross the railways and continue towards St Geertruid. After about 1 km follow the Mh2d signs to the start location.
By bus
Get either bus 56 or 57  from the bus stop opposite Maastricht central station and get off at the 'Kermisterrein' (Market place) in St. Geertruid. Then, just follow the Mh2d signs to the start location.
